Chevy Sonic joins Wards Top 10 Interiors
The new 2012 Chevrolet Sonic joined four luxury vehicles, two other compact cars, an SUV and a German icon on Wards Auto’s list of Ten Best Interiors this year.
WardsAuto editorial staff selected the 10 winners from a field of 40 vehicles with new or significantly improved interiors. There was no price cap on entries.
According to Wards, “The well-equipped $18,745 Sonic proves an inexpensive car does not have to look cheap.” Wards believes the Sonic brings a new level of style not normally found in the subcompact segment and maximizes space with “two gloveboxes, storage bins on either side of the center stack, a bottle holder in each front door and three cupholders between the two front seats. The gear-shaped tachometer and asymmetrical cluster over the steering wheel communicates all the vital information the driver needs, and does it with flair.”
Wards Top Ten Interiors are not ranked in any order and are listed merely in alphabetical order. The judging criteria includes ergonomics, safety, material selection, overall value and aesthetics. The winners in alphabetical order are:
