It was truly an honor to stand alongside veterans and community members as we came together to prepare care packages for our troops this holiday season. The event, held from 9:00 AM to 12:00 PM, was filled with heartwarming moments, a shared sense of gratitude, and the joy of giving back.
A Day of Giving and Community
Thanks to your generosity and support, we successfully packed care packages filled with essentials and holiday cheer to send to our troops overseas. From donating postage and assisting with packaging to contributing time and holiday spirit, every effort made a difference. Honoring Darryl Wertheim: Cookies for the Troops
This year, we were proud to host something extra special: Cookies for the Troops in honor and memory of Darryl Wertheim. With the help of the Orland Park Veterans Commission, we collected packaged (store-bought or bakery) cookies, candy, and small decorations to bring holiday joy to our troops. Together, we also signed Christmas cards to send messages of appreciation and love.
