We’re BBQing for the Troops Again – Join Us!
On Saturday, July 19th, 2014, Tinley Park dealership, Apple Chevy, will host its second annual USO Barbecue for the Troops fundraising event from 11:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m., as part of the Chicago Automobile Trade Association (CATA). The goal of the event is to raise awareness and funds for local troops, as well as their families.
Absolutely one hundred percent of the proceeds raised during the barbecue will support troops both deployed and at home, as well as military families; wounded, ill, and injured troops; and families of the fallen.
“It is an honor and a pleasure to be hosting this barbecue for the second year in a row on behalf of the Chicago Automobile Trade Association and the USO,” said Tom Gorham, Internet Sales & Marketing Manager, Apple Chevy. “The USO is often our troops’ ‘home away from home’ in foreign countries and serves our sons and daughters, brothers and sisters, fathers and mothers in uniform. We had a lot of fun and raised substantial funds for the USO last year. We hope that all who know us in our community will join us again this year.”
During the event, guests can enjoy hot dogs, brats, chips, drinks, and other typical barbecue foods. There will also be games, prizes, an inflatable obstacle course. The local Cub Scouts will offer a car wash. Visitors will also have the opportunity to win a $200 Gas Card by purchasing raffle tickets.
All donations will go to the USO (United Services Organization). A DJ will be playing “patriotic music” during the event, and the posting of the flag will be held at 12:30 p.m. along with a 21 gun salute.
In addition, for every car sold that day, Apple Chevy will donate $25 to the USO. Featured vehicles at the event include the all-new 2014 Chevrolet Impala, the 2015 Chevrolet Tahoe, and the 2014 Chevrolet Silverado High Country.
