Chevrolet Cruze Receives Canadian Honors
Buick and Chevrolet were both honored this past week with Automobile Journalists Association of Canada (AJAC) Canadian Car of the Year awards. The Buick Regal took “Best New Family Car over $30,000” and the Chevrolet Cruze took the “Best New Small Car over $21,000.” The decision came down after 70 Canadian automotive journalists took 48 new vehicles and drove them over three days. After the three days the journalists voted on the best vehicles for each of the eleven categories.
“To win top spot in the category that represents the biggest segment in Canada, after a head-to-head comparison with the best of the competition, is critically important for any manufacturer and marks a key milestone for the new product executions from Chevrolet,” said Kevin Williams, president and managing director of GM Canada on the Cruze.
Currently, the Regal and Cruze are now in the running for the prestigious Canadian Car of the Year title. The winner will be announced at the Toronto Auto Show on Thursday, February 17, 2011.
