2011 Chevy Volt and 2011 Chevy Silverado HD

Chevrolet completed the rare Motor Trend SWEEP, with the great new Silverado HD winning the 2011 Truck of the Year….just weeks after the Volt won 2011 Car of the Year.

Motor Trend praised General Motors Co. for increasing the power and torque of the diesel engine while reducing emissions. It also said the truck is a good value, with a price as much as $13,000 below its competitors in certain versions. The 2011 Silverado heavy duty went on sale earlier this fall.

The magazine’s editor-in-chief, Angus MacKenzie, called the Volt award one of “the most significant” Car of the Year awards in the magazine’s history. Motor Trend has been published since 1949.
