What to Expect From the 2019 Chevy Silverado RST
The surprise is out! As Chevy’s best-selling vehicle, the Silverado has remained a strong, dynamite force among trucks in the United States. And while the saying goes ‘if it ain’t broke, don’t’ fix it,’ Chevy couldn’t help but give the tried and true truck a brilliant redesign for the 2019 year. What changes would be made to the Silverado has been the talk of the auto industry, but now Chevy’s ready for those first looks. Available at your Chevy Dealer come this fall, the 2019 Chevy Silverado RST is a fresh, modern take on the Chevy classic drivers first fell in love with.
Eight Variants and an All-New Design
The 2019 Silverado lineup consists of eight variants that range from the traditional, basic “Work Truck” model all the way to the premium, luxury-featured “High Country” model. And though Chevy’s RS (Rally Sport) trim is not a new feature on its SUVS, the Silverado RST is the first to have the Rally Sport “Truck” (RST) for an eye-catching exterior.
The newly developed RST knows how to make a statement. The exterior is equipped with bright LED headlamps, tail lamps and fog lamps and a monochromatic paint scheme that extends to the grille, front and rear bumpers and side mirrors.
4-Cylinder Turbo in a Full-Size Pickup
You read that right. The Silverado’s 2019 Chevy models for sale this fall are making the impossible possible. The 2019 Silverado RST—and LT—will come with a modern double overhead cam, gas-powered, turbocharged 2.7-liter 4-cylinder engine. Yeah, it’s a whopper. And with 310 horsepower and 348 foot-pounds of torque between 1500-4000 rpm, this groundbreaking model boasts the smarts to match all the talk. Paired with an 8-speed auto transmission, the new turbo makes for an energetic, swift drive that feels light, quick and athletic. Simply put? This is one piece of incredible engineering with endless features including:
- Three valve-lift profiles: low-lift, high-lift and Active Fuel Management (AFM)
- An electric turbo wastegate
- An electric water pump
- Exhaust manifold forged-steel connecting rods
- Dynamic Fuel Management (DFM) available for the 5.3-liter V8 version of the RST trim
In such a popular field, truck buyers are always raising their levels of expectation from industry giants like Chevrolet. The all-new 2019 Silverado RST may not have hit Chevy dealerships quite yet, but already the fan-favorite is making waves with its redesign and trailblazing engineering.
