One of the things Chevrolet is most proud of is that our vehicles always include the latest technology. Giving our drivers the safest, most efficient experience possible is one of our top priorities. The only downside is that it can be hard to keep up with the breakneck pace of today’s innovations. Luckily, Apple Chevrolet is here to help. If you’re unsure of how to set up your vehicle’s bluetooth, not sure what MyLink can be used for, or just want to learn more about OnStar’s capabilities, come out to our Technology Clinic. We’re hosting our next clinic on Wednesday, November 4th at 7pm.
Before you join us, here’s a little background on the three systems new GM owners most often have questions about:
1. Chevrolet Bluetooth
Most Bluetooth phones will work with Chevrolet’s MyLink system. Once your phone is hooked up, you’ll be able to make and receive phone calls and access apps and music hands-free. For lots of people, audio streaming is the best part of using Bluetooth – there are no cords to hook up or settings to input; your phone automatically syncs the moment you enter your vehicle. You can let passengers stream music from their phones too! If you have an iPhone, you can also use Siri Eyes Free via Bluetooth to compose e-mails and send text messages. Siri will even read your text messages to you.
2. MyLink
MyLink allows you to access over 140 channels of music, sports, talk, entertainment and more with SiriusXM Satellite Radio. You can listen to your favorite music and programs without a single commercial interruption. If your phone isn’t Bluetooth capable, you can always connect it via your vehicle’s USB port and access playlists, music and more via MyLink too. MyLink also has a navigation system built in with 2-D or 3-D city view to help guide you to your destination. If you get lost or miss a turn, MyLink will automatically re-calculate to get you back on track.
3. OnStar
You can connect to OnStar via MyLink to have destinations and directions sent directly to your vehicle’s console screen. With the push of a button, you can be connected with OnStar assistance and speak to a representative quickly and with ease. OnStar’s representatives can help in the event of an accident or emergency as well. The OnStar RemoteLink app is also accessible via your phone to send driving directions to your vehicle’s in-dash navigation display, control car locks and lights, and keep up to date with vehicle information and details.
