GM Plans to Boost Bolt Production
In 2021, Chevrolet Bolt EV sales hit a record annual high of 24,828 vehicles for the 2022 Chevrolet Bolt EV. With the success of the Bolt models that came after slashing the starting prices, General Motors plans to boost production in the global market to over 70,000 in 2023, a significant increase from about 44,000 vehicles this year.
Chevrolet Bolt EV Price Comparisons
The 2023 Chevrolet Bolt is expected to become the most affordable electric vehicle on the market. Compared to the 2022 model years, the sticker price savings are significant. Starting off at $26,595, customers will save $5,900 on the 2023 Bolt EV. The 2023 Bolt EUV price is set at $28,195, $6,300 less than the 2022 model. In addition, Chevrolet will compensate customers who purchased a 2022 Bolt EV or EUV prior to the announcement of the price cuts for the 2023 models.

Changing the Charging Game
On the 2023 Bolt EV, DC Fast Charging is standard, enabling up to 100 miles of range in 30 minutes of charging. It will also feature a 11.5 kW onboard charging module and has an available dual-level charge cord: 120V and 240V capability with changeable plugs and SAE J1772 vehicle connection. Finally, the Bolt’s advanced 65+ kilowatt-hour lithium-ion battery pack means you can go wherever you want, whenever you want.
Moving Forward With a Magnet Drive Motor
Its electric drive is powered by a single electric motor and gears with a permanent magnet drive motor, which produces 200 horsepower and 150 kW. It gets an EPA-estimated range of 259 miles, while the 120 V charges 4 miles/hr and the 240 V gets a full charge in about 7 hours.
Revving Up With Regen on Demand
The Bolt is also now equipped with Regenerative Braking, which allows conversion of kinetic energy into energy stored within the battery for future use. Regen on Demand is activated with a simple pull on a steering wheel-mounted paddle. In addition, the 2023 Bolt features Intuitive Electric Precision Shift with a One Pedal Driving button. One Pedal Driving allows the driver to speed up, slow down, and even stop using only the accelerator pedal.
