We’re BBQing For The Troops – Join Us
CHICAGO, Illinois—On Saturday, July 20th, 2013, Tinley Park dealership, Apple Chevy, will host a USO Barbecue for the Troops fundraising event from 11:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m., as part of the Chicago Automobile Trade Association (CATA). The goal of the event is to raise awareness and funds for local troops, as well as their families.
Absolutely one hundred percent of the proceeds raised during the barbecue will support troops both deployed and at home, as well as military families; wounded, ill, and injured troops; and families of the fallen.
“We are extremely excited to be invited to host this barbecue on behalf of the Chicago Automobile Trade Association and the USO,” said Tom Gorham, Internet Sales & Marketing Manager, Apple Chevy. “Knowing that the USO is often our troops’ ‘home away from home’ in foreign countries, it is a real honor to assist those who serve our sons and daughters, brothers and sisters, fathers and mothers in uniform. We hope that all who know us in our community will join us.”
During the event, guests can enjoy hot dogs, brats, chips, drinks, and other typical barbecue foods. There will also be games and a Cub Scout car wash. All donations will go to the USO (United Services Organization). A DJ will be playing “patriotic music” during the event, and the posting of the flag will be held at 12:30 p.m. along with a 21 gun salute.
In addition, for every car sold that day, Apple Chevy will donate $50 to the USO. Featured vehicles at the event include the all-new 2014 Chevrolet Impala and Silverado.
