IT’S HERE!!
The 2017 Chevrolet Bolt EV is no Tesla, but at your convenience, and the planet’s, it gets you wherever you need to go in comfortable and efficient style.
WHAT IS GOOD ABOUT THE EV?
The Bolt EV can run for 238 miles on one charge, giving the driver assurance they won’t be stranded with a dead car battery. The vehicle goes 0 to 60mph in 6.5 seconds, with a 266 lb/ft torque and 200 level hp, the car is capable to keep up with city speeds and is great for road trips.
The Bolt EV comes with two modes, “L” and “D.” “D”rive runs like a normal, gasoline powered vehicle. When your foot is put onto the brake pedal, the driver triggered regenerative braking, meaning the energy is converted back into the battery power. “L”ow mode is an even more aggressive regenerative process. “L” is usually performed with one-pedal driving because when you take your foot off the accelerator, the car energy converts enough to actually make the car stop. It takes some getting used to, but is an overall more sustainable way to drive.
In addition to the great range and smooth sailing driving capabilities of the EV, the design of the car has some appeal. The EV spaciously seats four adults, with an extra seat if needed. Since the battery isn’t placed in the truck it leaves room for cargo space and the colors of the dash provide an airy feel throughout the vehicle. It comes with a 10.2 inch touchscreen to control music, HVAC accessories, and other
The 2017 Bolt EV makes it easy to be green. Not only does it use visuals and audio to show how green you’re being while driving an EV, but the car is as easy to plug in as it is to charge your phone! You can set your EV up to a schedule, and using a GPS the car will charge itself when you’re home.
SOME DRAWBACKS…
The number one setback on the EV is the lack of a navigation system. The car also has no adaptive cruise control, and when five people sit in the car it feels a little cramped. The EV’s upright design has been said to be a little mainstream for some people, especially those who want to promote using an eco-friendly vehicle.
To get a fully sufficient battery a level 2 charger is needed. You can click HERE to find out more information about charging your vehicle. Of course, the more you spend the better mechanics you’ll have for the car. Even though it offers wide range, driving an EV also comes with some anxiety since drivers worry about not being able to stop for a charge.
The EV is no sports car and is not by any means a high-fashion, speed demon. However overall the 2017 Bolt EV is a great car for a great price. It’s on sale now, so visit your local Chevrolet dealer in Tinley Park or go online to buy yours today!
