General Motors, America’s largest automaker, has announced a 5 billion dollar investment to introduce a new, smaller family of vehicles designed to compete with Toyota’s line of vehicles.
The new plan is borne of a deal between the world’s two largest economies: China and the United States. In a rare move, this looks to be a profitable partnership between China’s state-owned automaker SAIC and General Motors. The deal is split right down the middle: 50-50.
The move is forecast to benefit workers stateside as well as in China, where GM has 58,000 employees.
Chevy enthusiasts can hope to see a full range of new body styles, as well as customer-facing technology, connectivity, safety, and fuel efficiency.
Though there’s lots of controversy with jobs being moved overseas, but this deal looks to take on Toyota to become the Asia’s #1 auto manufacturer.
General Motors has a team of the best engineers in the world on the case. Specifically, they’re going to take all the favorite features of a range of GM vehicles and combine them into one.
The program is expected to grow General Motors output by 2 million vehicles annually beginning in 2019.
Chevrolet and General Motors have big plans in the works, but they still offer the best overall value and quality around. Things just keep getting better!
